Thank you very much for posting this online. I however just scraped off the melted parts (I figured new bulbs will end up melting again-same problem). My turn indicators/hazards are now working perfectly.

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.

It is good to know that someone knows how to search for answers. Glad it helped.

Bill.

Hey guys I'm starting to get a little agitated because I've looked by the hazard switch I've looked in the fuse boxes I cannot find the turn signal relay if anyone can help me find it I have a 1998 Volvo S90. If you're able to point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. I did notice once I disconnected the hazard switch then plugged it back in it worked so could it be the hazard switch causing the problems and not a turn signal relay.

The Hazard Switch/ turn signal relay are combined into this 5 inch long Hazard switch assembly on my 1988 Volvo 760 Turbo Wagon. My turn signal had failed, but the hazard lights still worked. Replacing the Hazard Switch cured the issue.

I have an '87 6 series BMW. I know for a fact that the turn signals do go through the hazard switch. If there is a problem with the signals it very well could be related to the hazard switch. I found this out by accident while doing some work and went for a drive with the hazard switch disconnected.

You're welcome. With my 1988 760, the turn signals didn't work but the hazard flasher did. This is what caused my confusion. I now carry a spare hazard switch.
