1989 740 sedan how to remove headliner on sunroof

Hi Everyone, Thanks for letting me join. On our 89 740 sedan we have been working on the headliner. Brutal. Its been a massive job. I did the main headliner and was going to just leave the sunroof headliner because its just taken too long. But now that Im done I regret it. Is it possible to do the sunroof headliner without removing or doing anything to the main headliner? I cant seem to find out how to specifically do the sunroof part.I cant really take the main one out anyways now as I used adhesive to attach some of the trims back on because some broke during removal.

Appreciate any direction/advice.

I have a 740 sedan with a fallen headliner.
I disassembled a similar car and kept the plastic and the cardboard. I considerd soaking g the cardboard in epoxy then covering it than swapping it into my "good car"

semed like not breaking up the plastic is a real challenge. the plastic degrades into dust eventually

my 122 has none of that plastic degredation, even knobs and things are bakelite. the vinyl seats lasted well it isn't turning to dust.

I think they put something in the plastic so it can't last forever, because if it did, that would be an environmental concern. Modern manufacturers might put a little more, it can also be a form of factory engineered obsolescence.







maybe someome smart can scan them and duplicate with 3 D printing?

im looking for an easier way, without remving plastic , I thought maybe indoor outfdoor carpet and glue it up there after reemoving the original headliner and the thin foam.
