Post by Mikele82 »

I checked the Electrical socket fuse 45 (15amp) was fine but replaced anyway.
(read somewhere here they share a fuse)
I checked the voltmeter on +pin16 and Grounds 4+5, no voltage

next steps suggestions?
can/should i rewire power to the port from another 12v?

That is strange. If that is your OBD2 port and the list on the right s what pins should be in use on your car, there seems to be the following issues:

1) Pin #9 has a connector in it
2) Pin #10 does not have a connector in it
3) Pin# 15 is missing a pin.

Ok,
It was fuse 57, 15amp.
Says it’s also the break light switch..
But without the fuse, break light is still working….
When I put a new fuse, it Immediately burns…
Any suggestions finding the issue?

Sounds like you may have a short in either the wiring or the light housing itself, or a bad ground. P2 Volvo wagons I have worked on can burn the contacts in the bulb holders or the part the connect to when fitted causing the bulb not to work even with new bulbs.

The C30 I recently helped with had a cracked rear light cover, but a buddy of mine who is a former Volvo mechanic (and currently has 2 x C30 T5) says they can leak around the rear light covers into the rear. Then of course you can get the leaking sunroof drains. So carefully check all around the interior of the car and look for water. CCM's can get wet if the RHF sunroof drain leaks.
