Post by Autossey » Fri Aug 31, 2018 4:48 pm

My climate control panel is dead when the key is on and car running, but on Acc mode the panel is alive...anyone had this problem?

Not an S40, but recently with increasing frequency, my 98 V70 would start but the Climate control, the power windows, and the radio would not work. Rather than starting the car, if I just moved the key to position I, they did work. I replaced the ignition switch and now all is well.
Les is more.

Thanks, my son came by with the car tonight and now there is never power to the ECC unit. I've change the unit twice with junkyard units with no success. Everything else works, so it just seems to be power to the ECC unit...?

Did you check fuses #1 and #12 in the passenger compartment?
Remove the panel under the steering wheel.

I looked at the fuses and they were all fine, none were numbered or coded to the heater/AC system however. The same is true under the hood. I did replace the ECC resistor in the fan air box months ago and it worked briefly.

none were numbered or coded to the heater/AC system

2000 S40.

Passenger compartment fuses.
Fuse #1 is the Blower motor, CCM (Climate Control Module).
Fuse #12 is the Passenger compartment fan relay.

Engine compartment fuses.
Fuse #8 is 30+ to CCM.
