I have a 2006 s60 2.5t awd Volvo with 200k. Everything works or DID. I looked into the little climate control sensor window and saw what looked like a dust bunny so I took a small hooked wire and pulled it out through the opening thinking I was doing good(should have left it alone)
Now when I have the cabin temperatures set anywhere on the numbered dial and push auto it blows hot air
If I put the dials on the blue mark the air blows cold so I should have just left it the way it was(working Fine) dumb...dumb...dumb.
Please help
didn't leave well enough alone

Not dumb, just uninformed. Unfortunately you broke the sensor. For future reference you have to use a vacuum cleaner just a bit at a time. I believe you will have to replace the control panel. June

Thanks so much for the instructional help. After looking at a few youtube videos it looked easy enough to access the
control panel, so I took the lower panel off which has two of three push button switches but NO screws to remove
the control panel so I'm wondering if I have to remove the gearshift cover to reveal the screws.
Also, do I have to buy the whole assembly or just the sensor?

I think you will have to replace the whole pannel. Yes the shift bezel pops up to expose the screws at the bottom of the panel. June

It's possible to just solder a new component on there. I've seen it done but I don't know the details.
The CCM isn't replaceable just like that. It has to be coded to the car.
Also don't forget to disconnect the battery or you'll get am airbag error code if you disconnect the CCM.

Thanks all for the help. I ordered a new panel and installed it but like you said I am now going to take the car in to a foreign car service to wipe out the air bag warning message(duh !!!!! ) he said he'll give me a break if I promise to do a little research next time. It's amazing what the SOHK teaches the experimenters that try to strike out on our own without the manual, but the retain factor is immense.
On another project, the horns that is on the car, one doesn't work and the other sounds pretty sick. I would prefer to purchase
some semi-loud aftermarket ones, but now walking on eggshells am wondering how to wire them. My understanding is that
the orig horns are tied into the airbag and alarm system so I want to make sure I do this one right
old dog still wanting to learn with less hard knocks.
