'08 XC70 3.2 Starts readily, runs a few seconds, quits. Throttle body wiring suspect.
My problem is as described above, car starts, runs a few seconds and quits. This usually when hot, seems to start and run normally when cold. I just tried it to operate my scanner, and it won't start. Having in mind my post of last August where I replaced the starter and had a very similar problem which I resolved by completing the installation of the air filter, thereby activating the MAP sensor. So, I immediately focused on the MAP sensor. Once again, I was defeated by the tool free electrical connecter, so I was unable to check for corrosion or power. Pulling codes I obtained several all relating to MAP/BARO sensors. Those codes are 105, 106, 108. This does not help me much other than confirming my suspicions of the MAP sensor. My parts car is an '05 and the MAP sensors do not interchange. Any suggestions? I am most confused by the fact that when it does catch it runs fine. This becoming less common, sometimes now requiring 20 attempts to start.

Please ignore the reference to throttle body wiring in my description above, not at all sure how that happened. I think it somehow carried over from a post in August. The problem lies with the MAP sensor.
