In November of 2025 I posted in this thread about a problem I had starting my XC 70
viewtopic.php?t=106932
Basically, the car tried to start, and then went completely dead - no power at all for anything -dashboard completely black.
I guessed it was a fuse or something in the battery system, but never found anything, and then a day or two later it just started, so I stopped thinking about it.
At that point, the battery was only a few months old - it was new in March 2025.
Now, it just happened again - I tried to start the car, everything was normal for a second as the car began to start, but then everything shut down, with no sign of any power at all - dashboard completely black, interior lights don't work.
This time, I put a battery pack on it and the car started right up.
I didn't check the battery voltage before i put the battery pack on, but I have not had any signs that the battery is not charging.
If my alternator was not working properly, or for some reason the battery was getting low, would there be a message while driving the car? I drove it the night before, and everything was fine.
I don't understand how the battery could appear to be fine one second, and then not supply any power at all the next second.
If the battery was just a little low, is there something in the car that would just shut down all output from the battery?

If you look at the battery + cable you will see that it has a built in fuse.
For problems like you are experiencing I would start there
Here is what I would do when the problem occurs
1. Check the battery voltage directly at the battery post
2. Start moving down the + wiring unit you stop seeing the battery voltage
Good luck
