Wow, been a long, long time since I was there. As a kid we used to take a DFDS ferry overnight to Jutland in Denmark for a holiday with my grandparents. I still remember in the early days my parents 1963 Vauxhall FB wagon being winched aboard on a rope sling into the hold. Later it was a drive on and off boat. The port quay was right by the bridge in Newcastle.
