This is the timeline for the day.
And this is what the GPS would look like sometimes when the road was climbing or going down.

After spending a week like this it was time to go home.
I didn't take any pictures on the way back. Just set a destination on the GPS and drove.
This is the entire trip home. Even though the Volvo seats are amazing I had to put a sweater in the small of my back to add additional support the last two or three hours. Most other car seats and I probably couldn't have made it.
I did make some observations on the way: The car is dead stable and surprisingly fuel efficient cruising at 160-180 kph on the autobahn. I spent a few hours at this speed, probably why I managed the 100+ kph average speed. I will also quite easily do 200 and even 235 even though the registration says it's supposed to have a top speed of 210. I didn't go past 235 since weather and traffic didn't allow for it but the car was still going.

Thanks! I've got a few plans for this summer as well. Something similar for a month down in Italy, France and Austria. I've also got a few thousand kilometers inside the borders of Sweden planned so maybe I'll snap a few pics of that as well. It is the land that shaped our cars after all

Please post more pictures with your trip! Took a driving trip from Venice to Rome few years ago and had a great time. I especially love matching your pictures with those on Google maps. Found you took a picture of Fortezza Di Castelfranco in backgroud in Finale Ligure !

Hey, you missed this:-)
Tuscany, Italy - A non-narrative short film of the beautiful landscapes in Tuscany, Italy. The region known for its rolling hills, villages, la dolce vita (the sweet life), vinyards, olives and cypress trees. This dronefilm is shot on a 2 weeks vacation with my family. Drove out to explore the landscapes of the region, with my drone by early morning, so I could capture Tuscany by dawn.
