I have a check engine light on and the car rpms just cut out at 3.5 rpm, other than that it starts and sounds fine untill you try to drive it. I have checked the turbo and replaced the fuel pump and fuel pump regulator then this problem pops up. any ideas would be great im at a loss looks like I have ta hit the dealer $$$$$$$ that part I hate , but desperation is setting in. PS I did had an air leak in the top hose to the intercooler that tripped the check engine light, however will this problem effect the readings on a scope at the dealer or are they just gonna tell me to buy o2 sensors that know are good and charge me a hundred bucks for the scope ????? any input is greatly appreciated thanks BT

can you drive it at all? It sounds like it's fine as long as you're below 3500 RPM. If that is the case, it is easily in a drivable condition where you can get to Autozone/Kragen/Checkers/PepBoys to have them read your codes.
If you have a CEL, you have codes stored -- and that will give you a good starting point for finding the cause of your troubles.

potroast has the right idea -- see what codes are getting set. Codes are invaluable in diagnosing problems.

The P0444 code is "Evap purge valve stuck open." This little valve with a hose running to it and one running out of it resides on your fan housing (driver's side) at the front of the car. I suspect it is bad and tripping an emissions code. Swap it out for a new one or one from a similar car (850's and first gen x70's) from a junk yard and see if that code goes away.
