I still have doubts about it. It was not saying until 112k(52+60) or 2030 which ever comes first.
Lease for brand new xc90 for 36 month will be in around 21k(officially it is higher, but you can always negotiate a good deal, it is volvo and not Toyota/Lexus). So guy paid 8k for questionable warranty. We are not sure who is the issuer of that warranty. Most of 3rd party warranties dont cover a lot. Plus deductible. I haven't heard of any warranty that would cover wear and tear items or the regular service interval items. So cost of ownership will be way higher. Lets add amount of depreciation of xc90(which is huge)...I still think that it would be cheaper to lease

I agree that individual results may vary. But depression is a real thing and xc90 is not known to be highly desired collective item(also not known to be the most reliable as well).
Lets make some hypothetical math. Lets assume new 2025 xc90 b6 you were able to get for around 65(they are 75-73, but in reality their inventory is high). Guys car is probably 35k on private market and maybe 30k for trade-in. He added a cost of approximately 10k buy buying this uncertain warranty(we all are not sure about exact terms and conditions). So trade in+warranty=40k. If to add depreciation over next year(we are almost in 2026MY) it will be another 10k(as per caredge chart).so items will be 50k..+unexpected not covered by warranty items and services another 5k(with $250 per hour you will be there fast)...so=55k..For 10k difference i much rather avoid hassle and move towards new car. One of my friends bought an Escalade. I asked him what he plans to do after warranty is off-his responce was " you dont keep such car after warranty is off"

800000 ccents /60000 is $1.33 per mile for repairs and maintenance with a $25o deductible??

Thats crazy expensive for a decently maintained car.
