EX60 Revealed: Volvo's New 400-Mile Range EV

Post by matthew1 »

  • Model & Positioning: All-new fully electric midsize luxury SUV, the direct EV successor to the XC60, built on Volvo’s SPA3 platform with megacasting and cell-to-body battery.
  • Range Leadership: Up to ~400 miles EPA / 503+ miles WLTP on top model, three battery options 80–112 kWh usable.
  • Performance Variants: P6 RWD 369 hp, P10 AWD 503 hp, P12 AWD 670 hp; 0-60 ~3.8 s on flagship.
  • Ultra-Fast Charging: 800 V system, up to ~370 kW peak, ~173–210 mi in 10 min.
  • Native NACS Port: Built-in Tesla Supercharger compatibility, no adapter needed.
  • Advanced AI & Infotainment: HuginCore with Nvidia/Qualcomm/Google Gemini – conversational AI, OTA updates.
  • Safety Innovations: World-first adaptive intelligent seatbelts + enhanced Pilot Assist.
  • Pricing & Timeline: ~$55–60k starting, configurator early 2026, US deliveries late 2026/early 2027.
I know new Volvo EVs aren't really most MVS users' thing, but it's my job. I get up, I make the donuts, etc.

Interesting 400 miles estimate. That must be for the largest battery option. Likely the highest HP option also.
Just like the 60s and 70s when you could get the base HP engine and on up to the optional monsters.
I will never buy one of these SUVs, but keep reporting on them.

400 is a lot of miles range for an EV, yes. And 670hp is downright monstrous. In the wrong hands this is a 5k pound 670hp Missile of Doom™. Good thing Volvo customers are about as right hands as they come

Where did you find all that info? Was there a press release?

I kinda like the nose, and the taillights, and the fabrics, and what’s going on with the door handle, how does that work?

Yes, press release and Car and Driver sources. The seats look pretty futuristic. We won't see these new models until late this year I'm afraid.

EVs are just a fad, they will never take. Norway has an amazing set of really quiet gas cars which will keep this from happening.

400 miles? I can barely drive 200 miles without peeing myself ….

Get the high HP version and then drive faster. 125 MPH for 3 hours = 375 miles between pee breaks. Might be a couple unplanned stops as well.

I just wish the front of these Volvo EVs had more character. They're just sort of... bland. As Gordon Ramsey would say, they need seasoning.

It's like having a conversation with a stormtrooper from Star Wars. You can't see the face. "Hi how are you doing? Good? Anyone home? Hello?" Maybe it's the absence of a grille.

Maybe just a grill decal on the front. No need for air flow openings.
