POLL: Do you like Fast Fridays?

Post by matthew1 » Sat Sep 08, 2012 2:30 pm

What it is
If you haven't looked at it, Fast Friday is MVS's weekly performance blog, posted here in the forum every Friday. All the recent ones Lucky wrote. Wait. Who is this "Lucky" you ask? Why he is none other than Robert Arnold, one of the top Volvo tuners. Many MVS users use his products, like the ARD Green tune.

Where it is The point of this post is to ask you what you think about Fast Friday :) . Thanks for any feedback.

Matt,
A long time ago, 1990 to be exact. Turbo magazine used to publish a tech page which is similar to fast friday's articles. I have saved them all and they are some of the most useful insight articles I have and are important to the development of any new modifier or diagnostician. Please keep them coming. "Lucky" ( Mr. Arnold) is a great resource and all of his tuning tips are helpful.

I learned so much about lubricants, turbos and longevity, it has made me a local resource for how to fix things correctly.
This data is priceless , please keep it coming. It is a fine compliment to MVS and how powerful a resource MVS really is.

I've been enjoying the reading. Quite educational without it dragging on and on. Lucky keeps it concise and stays on-point. Thank you for sharing your knowledge! I look forward to the next one.

One suggestion I have for these posts would be to perhaps illustrate some of the things Lucky mentions. Either by pictures or by a short video. He's done instruction videos in the past, at his pevious employers. But it would be good for some of us less mechanically inclined to attempt adjusting the timing or wastegate as he mentioned w/ a simple how to pictoral that is linked to the Fast Friday post. This would be nice to keep it organized - whether it's older videos/pics or fresh new ones. Lucky can get technical with the info he's conveying. I don't think he needs to dumb it down any further than he already has, but some illustration would help. I'm a visual learner, and it would help me and others like me to grasp the more technical items mentioned.

I know he's a very busy guy, and it's nice enough that he even writes these informative posts. It's only a suggestion and I won't take offense if it's not implemented. Thanks for all the help!
