Hi all I am from Connecticut, USA. I first got my 1994 Volvo 850 turbo wagon in November of 2010. I was looking for a car with about 1300 in my pocket. My dad found a ad in the paper were there was a Buick. So i went there with no intentions to buy a Volvo. So we go there and i saw the wagon he had for sale to. And i said eh and said OK i will take this Buick for a test drive. And it wouldn't go into over drive, it had that stupid shifter on the ignition, and the wheel was so skinny and it just wasn't what i expected for 1000 Buick. So i said what the hey let me try the Volvo to.o and before i took the Buick for a test. He said o there is a guy on his way to look at the Volvo, so i said OK took the Volvo for a drive. And it was much better shifted nice, fast, i loved the heated seat option the turbo option the sunroof and everything the Buick didn't have. But there was problems with it like the pcv and all the regular Volvo 850 problems. the speedometer stopped. But after i came back, the other guy was already there and he looked at the car but didn't even take it for a ride. so as i talked to the owner while he was still looking at it, my dad said OK 1000 for it he goes eh no.So my dad starts walking away. i said wait wait how low will you go? he said do you really want this car? and be4 when i was on the test ride with my dad my girl was there telling him how bad we need a car and she was pregnant and we needed it to start a family. so i guess he new i needed it and said 1100 and i said deal. And the other guy was very disappointed and walked off. Hey he probably inquired about the Volvo first but i was there first and money talks so yea now i have a wonderful turbo wagon that i can roast all other cars with. And i love it so much for my daughter and girlfriend. And this site has taught me everything pretty much. thanks to all the kind helpers. This is such a good service to the people at no charge. Thank you so much. Sorry for the bad punctuation and rambling.

I'm from Melbourne, Australia and at this time of year coming into Spring there's nowhere I'd rather be. I own 4 yes that's right four of them a 1992 960, a 1995 850 10 valve and 2 V70s both NA from '99 and 2000. The 2000 V70 is my current daily driver.

hi,
just cast my vote, to bump up the Aussie numbers. Cmon aussie !
im from Bundaberg, in Queensland. ( sort of like florida, only upside down, and with far less people )
my volvo garage is- 1998 v70 ( my father uses ), 1992 940 that is now my sons, and my wifes 2007 xc90, which she lets me drive when the tank is empty. ( my work car is non-volvo at the moment )
previously i have had 244, 245 and 740
my dream volvo would be a newish XC90 v8, but i predict my reality is more like a 940 with 300000 on the clock. not complaining about that though !

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

I'm from Melbourne, Australia. Good to see a few of us from DownUnder (and you Kiwis too!). Glad to be here - such an informative website! I have just got ahold of a '99 V70R after missing my 850R (855R) wagon too much. I picked up the Volvo bug from my Mum and Dad, who have had 144s, 240s and 940s - so I blame them.
