easy fix for timed out 2014 vida Topic is solved

I bought a dell with vida installed, it soon went out of date and I've been driving around with CEL for almost 2 yrs.
I managed to get it to boot once but when I restarted the laptop it went back to out of date again.
I gave up and almost took a hammer to it.
One year later I looked for another solution on youtube, found a video by yagger, it solved the problem first time.
This assumes you have win 7 pro on a dedicated machine, I don't know about virtual setups.
