Many copies of VIDA expect "Internet Explorer", and won't play nice with anything else.
Microsoft broke IE it in a recent Edge update. No matter how hard you try to get IE back in Edge, it won’t go.

Edge lost option to reload in IE mode - Microsoft Q&A
I've completely lost the option to reload in IE mode on multiple different pc's that uses edge as of today. Its set to allow in edge://settings/defaultBrowser and I've even added sites to it to try to force it to work that way but no luck. I have...
run cmd (or powershell) as admin:
reg add "HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Edge" /v InternetExplorerIntegrationLevel /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f
Then task manager, kill Edge, and re-open edge

1982 240DL: Drove it 32 years and 1.5 million miles (sold, even still had mint leather!)
2001 v70 2.4T: The most expensive $1500 car I ever bought ("Volvo Turbo" - what an oxymoron!) (sold)
2004 v70: Far less fatally-flawed v70 - It served well (sold)
2010 v50: Smaller, slightly sportier wagon. Its got a spoiler, so I upgraded with sway bars!
