Change your FOB battery 2016 XC90

Well my wife reported that her FOB was no longer working properly after a dealer software update. The car was brought back to the dealer and they found out that it was missing an antenna. After a few days the new antenna was installed and the FOB still did not function. She could not lock her car for fear it would not unlock.

After discussing it at work, her boss told her it could be the FOB battery. She relayed this to the dealer - as they were still troubleshooting the issue. They changed the battery and the FOB returned to functioning correctly.

So, as the new XC90 starts to get up there in age - if you have FOB issues --- Check the battery.
