How to go faster, stop quicker, and turn harder. Chips, exhaust, larger turbos, bigger/slotted/drilled rotors, high performance brake pads, manual boost controllers, performance shocks/struts/springs, airbox mods and more! Also discussion on HID and Xenon lights, aftermarket foglights and other exterior lighting.

Resurrecting an old post due to a question I haven't been able to resolve in my own auto-to-manual swap:
Does anyone know if I can mix a 1998-2000 M56 manual transmission with an older 850 flywheel? The issue is the clutch and throw-out bearing. The 850-style used a bell housing with external slave cylinder, release fork, and matching throw-out bearing. The later version had an internal slave and presumably a throw-out bearing to match the pressure plate designed for the later model dual-mass flywheel. Would it also match the single-mass 850 flywheel and pressure plate? Thank you for any help!
