Wanted 95-97 850 wagon with turbo- trade or $2100

Post by CIK7 »

Located in Antlers OK. I have a 2001 Volvo v70. I would like to either trade for a 95-97 850 FWD-only wagon with turbo or buy one for under $2100 if i can get my v70 sold. I cant travel far either way.
Im looking for one that runs and drives great with AC. I dont care if it has paint chips, dents, fading, driver seat is worn/torn, the dashboard/carpet is dirty, or the headliner is sagging. All i need is for the driver seat to work, the engine and tranny to run and drive good, the AC to blow cold, and the windows roll.
Essentially i would like a well running project car. The transformation from old to new will be astounding!
If its possible i would like to see records on timing belt, pcv system, etc.

You can get that in the NE for about $1000, maybe $500 to transport?

I know turbos are fun but the NA is not to be sneered at. An increasing percentage ofturbos are now being removed from the gene pool by kids trashing them.

How would i go about buying a car from a far away individual without them thinking i might be a scammer? And I'm pretty positive that the engine in my 01 v70 (na 2.4) has same power output as the 93 model na

I have an NA P80 wagon and a turbo P80 wagon. Don't buy an NA if having fun with it is important.

I already have an 01 v70 with NA. The 168hp is same as P80, dunno about torque. The turbo are so hard to find at the price punt i want, even hard finding people that are willing to trade. I found a 95 850 NA WAGON in Colorado for$800. So far to go. Unable to do it unless towed. I'm frustrated. Antlers is a lousy Timbuktu.

The trick with shipping is to avoid door to door. You need a cooperative seller who can deliver it to a load on point, then you have to go pick up it at the delivery portal. Trading cash for time as always.

You do have to fly out and inspect yourself, of course, that's the price of this beautiful country and state like Iowa where wheel bearing never fail.

+1. My cousin has had multiple NA P80s, they're SLOW. I've only ever had turbos (except for my 850, but I never drove that car) and I couldn't downgrade to an NA unless it was simply a daily driver that I didn't need to go fast. My manual V70R has set the standard... and that's even slow to me.
