I dearly loved our 240 wagon, but I drove it on the highway for many years and I wouldn't pay anything like that for one - they're loud, like pushing a brick through the air. It certainly is just to "have one" in a collection of some kind. The college kids love them, but they're not paying 35k. I think those sales represent "novelty value." JMO. The jump to the modern 850 was like night and day.

This one owner 122 is so intriguing. What a story it must have.

Reported 412k, and a Stanford connection no less.
We'll see how far 'one owner' and 'patina' goes these days.

Nice light rig, and note the fresh fluid puddle - truth in advertising !
With the amount of damage to the underbits, my bet is it's a real flexible flyer. I knew a guy who had a 356 Porsche, so rotten It finally got to the point where it wouldn't shift; pushing in the clutch pedal oilcanned the belly pan instead of compressing the pressure head.

And in related news...
"Meanwhile, Bring a Trailer was setting records of its own. With gross sales of $828 million, the firm more than doubled its previous high revenue of $398 million, in 2020."

Made $6550, a bit spendy for one that needs everything.
