P80 wagon roof rail cross-bars (2 sets) SOLD Topic is solved

I hate to see stuff being needlessly scrapped so when I saw 2 sets of P80 roof rail system cross bars, I decided to bring them home in case anyone needs them.

I have not had time to clean them up yet but if there is no interest, I will return them to the junkyard as I have no need of them as I already have a set.

The closer set to the camera (lower set) are in good condition and the rubber is excellent. I will clean them before shipping if there is interest. The only issue I see is there is a dappled effect on the rubber which may be tree sap, but they don't feel sticky.

The other set are in excellent condition and the rubber looks un-marked.

Both have very slight rubs on the finish but for 20 years old they are superb.

These are NLA from Volvo and are fitted with a T30 Torx security bit. They are not lockable other than using the security bit.

I am reliably informed these will fit either roof rail types the thick or thinner versions.

I am only looking to cover my costs. Shipping I will work out with any interested party. $40 US each set. First come first to choose which set.

I will keep this ad going until I return from a trip in early October 2022. If I have no interest, I will return them to the junkyard for a refund. No point keeping if no one needs them!

I promised to post more close up pictures of the 2 sets of rails. Unfortunately they did not clean up as nice as I'd hoped so now considering returning them unless they are wanted for 'user' rails where they are going to get beat.

I guess the reality is 20+ year old rails even when little used still take a bit of a beating.

There are 2 sets, first are the set with the very good if not perfect rubber facings, but the finis is not as good as the other set:

This is the 2nd set with rubber that is good, but possible been sat under a tree and attacked by tree sap? It has indented the surface but is still solid:

So you can see most of all the warts they display. I may consider making up a 'better set from swapping over the best of the end caps. I had considered dis-assembling but you have to knock out steel roll pins to do that. To be honest, I am selling these for what they cost so that is too much work. I'd rather return them if there is no interest as they are.

Best case I will try to make the best of the end caps and the better rubber facing set and return the others.

Would love them but how do we get them to NY without breaking the bank? Maybe the CO route?

Sorry, but unfortunately, both sets are shortly on their way to an MVS member in Taipei!!

Will do. Not in a huge russet to get them , so maybe we can find an apeeling travel schedule
