Spark plugs-

Post by SalterK13827 »

Is it worh the effort to change my own plugs/wireset on my '04.5 s40? I started to dig in and noticed alot of electrical in the way. I'm not that inclined on newer technology in cars, and do not want to mess anything up.
Thanks!

Welcome to MVS.
It's very simple actually- and yes, it's worth the savings. Make sure an buy genuine Volvo plugs or what's recommended in your owner's manual as well as gapping them to the correct spec. The how-to is below (tightening torque is 20.5 ft. lbs which works out to be about the same as tightening them up until they bottom out and then another 1/4 turn). Scroll down past the ignition coil replacement section):
