Volvo Repair Database Poor Performance after Timing Belt Change

Post by bigeagle »

I just had my 90,000 mile service on my 2001 S40 1.9T. The timing belt was changed and i got a tune up. Now the transmission doesn't down shift unless you totally floor it and it doesn't feel like the Turbo kicks in.
Any ideas?

Thanks!

It sounds like the cam alignment is off after the belt change. You're lucky its still running. Take it back.
Ambitious but rubbish

It actually runs fine, just not much power. I was thinking maybe it was something to do with a vacuum leak as that might have a relationship to why it doesn't downshift with a tap of the peddle and the turbo doesn't work. How are they activated?

You were absolutely right. I got it back today and they told me that there was a salight mis-adjustment to the timing belt on one of the cams. I am impressed. Thankyou!
