V50 and Newer S40 (2004.5+) Posts Migrated

Post by MadeInJapan » Sun Jun 05, 2016 12:12 am

Just wanted to give everyone a head's up that up until now, we've had V50's both here and in C30/C70(2006+)/Newer S40/V50 (2004.5+) Forum. Not sure how we didn't catch it, but this caused confusion and so we are have moved all V50 posts from here to there (and have taken the V50 label off of the description of this Forum). This will help unify owners of the OLDER S/V40's into one place. The other issue is that many S40 owners of model year 2004.5 and newer have been posting here. So those posts have also been moved to there. Unfortunately, when they are moved, they get placed by date, so many of them are years old. It is unfortunate for instance that questions posted here were often never answered, or if they were, they were often answered by someone who thought they were talking about the older (96-2004) version of these cars. That said, it is vitally important that you put your model and model year in the title of your post. When I move posts and it's not clear, I have to read the entire post (and sometimes the thread) to help me make the decision of whether to move it or not. Anyway, the migration should help everyone in this forum stick with the topic of only the Pre-2004.5 S/V40's and so will help in exchanging information and will greatly alleviate the clutter you might have felt before. Enjoy the site and I hope you find your S/V40 answers here!! Happy Volvoing! :D

Hi I need help for my volvo as I cannot read ECU via OBD2 port. I lost the keys during robbery. I towed my car to volvo workshop and even volvo couldn't help me. Anyone who can advise me what to do. I took the car to other workshops and they are asking me change the complete lockset i.e ECU, ABS pump, internal fuse box, ignition, radio, key and steering lock. If anybody know anything to sort out this problem. PLEASE HELP
