2004 door panel removal? Anybody have instructions?

Post by Spizzi »

I pushed in all the plastic pints/rivets and loosened 90% of the door panel on the passenger side. However, I am trying to pull it up and away from the door frame itself and it seems to be stuck at one area behind the tweeter speaker area. Is there a hidden torx screw (or screws) that i need to find and loosen? I'm pretty strong and the last area that won't budge is really really tough to pull apart so I am guessing that there are some hidden screws that i need to loosen. thoughts???

I am having the same problem--the panel seems to be connected with a screw to the steel door itself just under the top of the door handle. If so, how to gat access to that screw? No obvious access. Would much appreciate a response.

I had to take the door panel off when installing the electronic folding mirrors on my wife's V70. If you follow these directions that are part of that procedure, it will show you how to do it. What you're stuck on is the grab handle on the door that comes apart with a bone (or otherwise dull) tool:

The parent site to the above link is below (if you need to know other instructions in the future): http://vccs.volvocars.se/accessories/ii/search.aspx
