They are not comparable to tier-1 AT tires, like BFG KO2 or General Grabber AT/X.

What's your priority? Mine is grip, so the last 3 tire sets I've ordered were made by Vredestein. Quatrac for my XC70, Quatrac 5 for then wife's XC60, Pinza AT on my XC70 currently. When wife's Sequoia finishes here Michelin's, it gets Pinza AT as well. Thread life is not that great, but even mild Quatracs were the reason I got rid of a dedicated winter tire set.

Truck gets a real AT tire, Load Range E, steel belts, etc :)

Up here I thought that when the All/4 season tires were supposed to cover the bases. That was until we got ice regularly. I still run M&S tires on the 4Runner, but have dedicated tires and rims for the 2 Volvos. The R has a worn set of 'sacrificial' tires on rims for standing on over the winter in the garage, and the XC70 has a winter set. I had hoped All Weather would be a good option to downsize to one set, but so far the reviews are they are poor in ice. We are no allowed to have studded tires in the city as the regular chinooks we get, or used to get during the winter cleared the snow on the roads quickly and studded tires destroy the tarmac.

I like Vredestein tires. I have used that brand on the Volvos I had in the UK for many years. Harder to find here in Canada but they are now getting easier to find.

Refreshing the front suspension and brakes all around. Front left caliper was stuck, could not push it back. Oh well, 20 years and 240k miles in New England, it is about time.

The dust boot's tension ring rusted and let the water in

The bore looks good and undamaged, only the outer part (past O-ring) is rusted

The caliper seems to be salvageable, I'll get the kit (Frenkit S20500). Also went ahead and bought a new/refurbished ATE caliper yesterday, without knowing yet why and where my old caliper froze.

This makes me wonder if any of the rear calipers froze up. In any case, I'll be prepared that the remaining 3 old calipers won't last long. The last set of new pads.

I walked outside to find the driver's side mirror glass had peeled away from the rubber pad and broke on the ground.
I see there are replacements online...but what kind of glue do I use? I throw this out as a teaser on this long thread.
I'll make a dedicated post to the repair job IF someone tells me what adhesive to use.

The last time, when the right side peeled free, I went to a glass shop in Guilderlands, NY.

I think Gorilla glue would work well there

Related to things sticking, I went out to pop on the magnetic badge my Maine buddy sent me for the fantastic minor league futbol club Hearts of Pine (Portland). It won’t stick, falls on the street. Sticks just fine to the side of the car.

The actual question:
Does the XC / V70 have an aluminum hatch??

Yes they have aluminum or plastic hatches.

Perhaps if you place a strong sheet magnet on INSIDE of your hatch it will support the badge on the OUTSIDE.
