It won’t stick, falls on the street. Sticks just fine to the side of the car.
The actual question:
Does the XC / V70 have an aluminum hatch??

Trying to determine when next series of oil changes are due on the kids’ three P2s…I asked my youngest how many miles were on the 05 XC90, reply — “a lot”.
I suppose that is a fair reply when the last change was at 209,000 miles. I think I might make my life easy and just setup a 6 month schedule as they each get 7-10k a year. Early changes help keep those PCV systems clear anyway, no interest in wanting to change another one of those.

I put so few miles on that tread life isn’t a priority for me, they’ll age out before they wear out (part of the reason I don’t have dedicated winter tiresvtl wrote: ↑08 Oct 2025, 22:03They are not comparable to tier-1 AT tires, like BFG KO2 or General Grabber AT/X.
What's your priority? Mine is grip, so the last 3 tire sets I've ordered were made by Vredestein. Quatrac for my XC70, Quatrac 5 for then wife's XC60, Pinza AT on my XC70 currently. When wife's Sequoia finishes here Michelin's, it gets Pinza AT as well. Thread life is not that great, but even mild Quatracs were the reason I got rid of a dedicated winter tire set.
Truck gets a real AT tire, Load Range E, steel belts, etc![]()

Give a try to Pinza AT if they are in your price range. They have P-rated sizes as well.Krons wrote: ↑12 Oct 2025, 10:03 I put so few miles on that tread life isn’t a priority for me, they’ll age out before they wear out (part of the reason I don’t have dedicated winter tires). No load E as I prefer ride quality. Because I’m price sensitive I’ll probably get the Rocky Mountain A/T at Discount Tire which does get decent ratings.

You could even skip the filter change every other oil change. Don’t reuse the oil though. That’s crazy talk.Krons wrote: ↑12 Oct 2025, 09:49 Trying to determine when next series of oil changes are due on the kids’ three P2s…I asked my youngest how many miles were on the 05 XC90, reply — “a lot”.

This is from a 2020 model etm with contact less sensor. One issue was fixed, but the other remained. The magnet on the spindle rusts and expands, causing the magnet casing to rub on the windings and cause an issue when the etm is grounded. Will work on Bench but not mounted.

Mann filters going for $6.64 at FCP — that’s real money.abscate wrote: ↑13 Oct 2025, 18:18You could even skip the filter change every other oil change. Don’t reuse the oil though. Suspension was 10 years and 100k miles old. It was OE Volvo, with ~1" polyurethane puck above strut bearing and subframe shimmed by 5/8". Decided it's time to refresh it and get rid of pucks along the way.
Ground to fender was 31-1/4"
Used Bilstein B4 struts for XC90 and XC90 springs (Lesjofors, code 33). All new hardware as well. The LH caliper froze, I took it apart and decided to rebuild. Upon further inspection there was nasty rust found in the compression sock's groove, which I would not be able to clean properly. Here goes a rebuilt ATE caliper. New Bosch disks and pads, too.
Sits at 33" now. Will sag down a bit, hopefully, and I need to correct toe-in and headlights, too.
Very pleased with the results. The old suspension was very tired as it turned out, and perhaps outmatched by the heavy 29" AT tires and 14GA stainless steel cage around radiators (that one is about 20 lbs, if I remember it correctly). Now it flies over pot holes better than wife's TRD PRO Sequoia that runs on FOX shocks with multistage valving.
