P2 V70 AWD Polestar

I have been working on my buddy for probably a year to sell me his V70 AWD Polestar tuned 06 auto. It has the 'sports' seats option that has the side support for your legs which lifts the weight off my tailbone. The car has about 145k miles on it. He is a former Volvo mechanic and bought it from the daughter of the original local Volvo dealer who had it from new. He worked on the car and did lot of work on it. He does not drive it much as he prefers his 97 850 AWD with the manual trans. He does about 100km each way to work daily so adding mileage to a 400kkm 850 is no great deal.

It will need some servicing work to bring it up to my Stage 0 level, including new winter tires. He gets a smoking deal on those from his current employer on General/Conti tires.

It also needs a timing belt and we need to check the history to see if it had a water pump last time or not. The price of the OE blue box timing kit is now about up here at about $400 CDN. An Aisin pump is about $110 CDN delivered from Rock Auto.

I still have to work out what other work is needed but that can likely be done over a while as I don't do a big mileage. My wife likes the idea of this over an XC90 as being short, she finds the wagon easier to drive.

Should be an interesting project if it works out. My buddy says it needs a windshield which he will have fitted prior to sale, along with the timing belt.

Getting a lot more info on the car's back history. My buddy has had the car about 4 years buying it from the original owner, the daughter of the local dealership. He has done a fair amount of tidying up of the car and also did a bunch of work on the car prior to buying it on behalf of the seller. Lots of stuff has been done including a trans flush about 25k miles ago. I have to pull all the info together to understand what other work is needed. I know it needs new winter tires, the windshield that he is organizing, and the timing belt kit. We need to check the water pump history to see if it needs done.

I will have to get the car inspected for insurance/safety prior to being able to insure the car.
