Changed T-belt about 3 weeks ago, then she said it would not drive, out of the blue. Put a scanner on it and it said o2 sensor and timing off. Looked again today and got code for #5 cylinder misfire. Changed that then this issue with the transmission started after coil change. The engine runs great, no problem revving it up, smooth as can be. By the way 188K on the car. Any suggestions?
Thanks, Jerry

Could need a ATF drain and refill or flush if not done recently. Has your software been updated to remove the shift to neutral when stopped? This is an issue for 2001 and later years was removed.
Has the idle speed increased from about 700 RPM. This would also cause hard shifts from rest.

One of the three linear solenoids in the valve body is sticking and not moving freely, probably the SLU one. You can buy a rebuild kit from TransGo for about 100 dollars with all you will need to rebuild them. I went through this a few years ago on my ‘03 wagon, changed all the mounts and did a couple drain and fills with no improvement until I rebuilt the solenoids.
You can also buy new solenoids or a new valve body. How dirty is the fluid?

Definitely check mounts, and do three drain and fills for new fluid
KarlaKat came to me with a stuck torque converter solenoid, foggy did an ATF change ,I did two more and the solenoid unstuck.
Neutral stop software should get removed at dealer.

Could the timing be off, could it have jumped a tooth?
So I changed the last coil, all have been changed this year, plugs done in April, but I re-gapped them all to.030, one was .045, my daughter had a friend of hers change them. Last time that’ll happen. So now the banging in gears is gone but still runs rough. Scanner gives a code of P0111, Air Intake Charge Sensor, to test it I have to put a meter on it, but there are no wires that go to it. I also cannot find one that fits this car, at least the picture I got
P/N 9209888. Can’t put picture in but it’s the green one inside the air box. I believe it should be one on the intake that looks like a trap door, the tube goes to the exhaust via the flex pipe.

Far as I know it allows warm air from the exhaust in cold weather, I had that system on my old 740.
You said you had a timing code, did you check the timing yet?
Can a belt jump timing? maybe if its covered with oil and the tensioner is way out of adjustment.
I think its more likely your install was slightly off, I'd go back over everything,
see if the belt is tracking straight on the cam gears at idle.

UPDATE:
So after all the coil changes, MAF sensor, checking vacuum, fuel filter change, and dodging the weather, I think it’s something with the front right possibly in the transmission. Only the right side. I put it up on jackstands put it in drive, there is a click and you can feel the vibration as I release the brake, gets worse as the speed increases.
Any thoughts?

Could be the angle gear, they most often fail at the pinion bearing. Is it leaking?
