Post by erickmunoz0319 »

So I'm about to begin restoring my sons 2003 Volvo S60 T5 current motor in it is B5234T 2.3L (238000 Miles). I found a 2003 Volvo S60 model with the B5244S Motor 2.4L (97000 miles) can I remove the turbo stuff from the original motor onto this New motor. Also other than tuneing is there anything else i need to be aware of. (sorry in advance if this seems like a dumb question My car knowledge isn't the best) and thanks in advance for any info.

Why are you replacing T5 engine in first place? It has the most durable block in the whole lineup.

You cant, the B5244S is a naturally aspirated motor with thin cylinder walls and high compression.

Well I’ve had the motor assessed by 2 different mechanics who tell me the motor is not making good compression in one of the cylinders and they both recommend either an engine swap or an engine rebuild. I believe they said it was cylinder 4 . So the car stars and runs but I has a very sluggish acceleration. I can get it up to about 70-80 mph on the freeway both it’s slow to get to those speeds and is just seems like it’s struggling to give me those speeds.

Rebuild the T5. It is either worn piston rings, or valve not closing fully, or both.

While no doubt for that too, I wonder if the turbo is spooling alright
