My left rear ABS sensor is broken in half. I want to replace it but I can't figure out how to remove it completely.
The harness inside the car won't fit between the gas tank and body, neither will the sensor. I don't want to have to splice the wires if I don't have to. I would prefer just to take the wires out of the harness from my old and new one, then feed the wire through the gas tank and body, and reattach on the inside.
Anyone know how to remove this grey wiring harness without wrecking the wires inside?
According to this link I have to depress the "tangs" to release the terminal from inside the connector. The only problem is that I can't seem to locate the "tangs" or locking mechanism that is keeping these terminals inside the connector.
Anyone ever dismantle one of these that can add some insight?

- If I can get the metal terminals out without damaging the connector I can slide out the wires, past the gas tank and insert the new ones.

Thanks JDS60R I was thinking it was something like that connector but I tried many different angles and finally gave up, and tried another method.
I was able to slide the harness out between the gas tank and body of the car. I simply attached a couple of strings to the harness and covered it with duck tape. Then I smeared petroleum jelly all over it and slid it through the little space. With the string attached I was able to pull on the string towards the front of the car while pulling the sensor from under the wheel well towards the rear. With a bit of determination and diligence I found a spot near the front side of the opening where the harness is actually able to fit between the gap. I then used the string that was now fed through to under the wheel well and tied it to my new sensor harness. A little tape and petroleum jelly and I was able to carefully maneuver it back up through the gap and into the rear of the car. Hooked it up, reattached my battery with ignition in position II and took her for a test drive.
NO more ABS or TRAC lights.....finally!
