Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF is not 3309 compliant!

Comment from another forum

"A year or so ago I noticed that Mobil had added a statement that Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF met the JWS 3309 specification. I used it on my next transmission fluid change. This past week, however, I went to Mobil's website to check again. JWS 3309 is no longer listed.

I sent an email to Mobil asking if that meant Mobil 1 Synthetic was not appropriate for our Volvos. I got an email response today and this is exactly what it says";

"Yes, you would need to change to Mobil ATF 3309. The Mobil 1 ATF was not formally approved, thus the requirement was removed from the container."

Added to VRD. This is interesting. And strange.
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Also -> Amazon link
. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!

FYI - the Multi Vehicle ATF still lists Toyota-IV (which is 3309) so I would still consider it a good option. It /is/ a synthetic blend.

Very curious about the fully synthetic stuff. If you compare the spacs on their website, the synthetic beats 3309 on every measure...

3309 is mineral based and NOT a synthetic blend in any way, shape or form
