I think I understand.
But he is right - if it has caps on both sides then he is only going to be able to get to them through dis assembly.
Pictures of them during dis assembly on the post would be great. Especially as we have done lots of these and have never seen the caps.
How they got there - Only the Shadow knows !!!!

Whatever they are and how they got there I agree , crack the case.
I have rebuilt a couple trannys in the last two years and everything was held in its places with snap rings, there was nothing pressed in per se less shaft bearings.
Seals on the cases for cv's but never seen a cap just hanging out.
I'm very interested to see the outcome here.
