Re: 2006 XC70 Key fob question
Is it possible to put one good known key near the lock, like tape it inside the steering column trim, and use non transponder keys to operate the car? I've got a 2002 v70 xc, which has only one key. Not worth spending a whole lot on a key if I don't have to. I can pretty easily get cut keys from eBay I think. Nearest Volvo dealer is 250 miles away, so that doesn't help either. . . Thanks! Scott

You can get keys cut at a hardware store if you don't need chips

Sounds great, but not out here in the sticks... Even our best locksmith in town doesn't carry the blanks, but he has ordered them in and will get me set up next week, or if not " after the first of the year, I have some time off and am taking my son skiing!" That works for me, ski hills are calling!

If you do 10 runs on Big Sky you have skied Everest...I did it in one day, except for the "tin can " run...that's a bit out of my league

Re: 2006 XC70 Key fob question
Well it worked! I had to do quite a bit of trial and error to find the sweet spot where the chip could be read, but it works! Thanks doublebug! And abscate, my wife and I used to be on the Ski Patrol down there, never heard that before, but doing the math it is about right! I think 2,700 feet is the longest run skiable at Big Sky without hitting the tram, and Everest is about 29,000 feet, Kathmandu is around 4,600 feet and base camps are 17,000, so its even further than skiing everest!
