Serpentine belt, V70 - T6, Differences?
As you can see from my other posts, I took the forums advice and replaced the alternator with a failed pulley, with a used alternator from a '04 S80 T6. Hollanders said they were the same. Well, I got the V70 one out, and the T6 one in in about 2 hours (10 minutes on my '64 Plymouth convert). It all went together as it should I have been struggling, off and on, for two days to get the new belt I purchased on. That is a Dayco for the V70 6060719. A few minutes ago I thought to check if the T6 used the same belt. It doesn't, the T6 uses a Dayco 6060724. I don't know how to decode Dayco belt numbers, but I suspect that the 719 and 724, indicate a slight difference in length. The only difference I can imagine is the size of the pulley on the T6 alternator. I just checked an online supplier and they list different numbers for the V70 pulley and the S80 T6 pulley. Looks to me that I am in the market for a T6 belt. Anyone know for sure? Can anyone decode the Dayco numbers (they should indicate length)?

Re: Serpentine belt, V70 - T6, Differences?
Well, I got out this morning and put my mic on the two pulleys (pretty awkward with the installed T6). I get a larger diameter on the T6 pulley of about 3mm. The differences in the Dayco belts is 719 = 71.85", 724 = 72.44". That seems to solve the Dayco "code", drop the decimal point and use the first three digits for inside length. I guess it is time to to try the Dayco 6060724. Surprisingly, that is 50% more than the 6060719. Any better ideas?

Strength is the lot of but a few privileged men; but austere perseverance, harsh and continuous, may be employed by the smallest of us and rarely fails of its purpose, for its silent power grows irresistibly greater with time.”

Try Dayco belt 666-666
"And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name or his number." - Revelations, KJ version
Seriously, I got the belt spec'd for the T6, Dayco 6060724. It went on just like the show and tell videos on Youtube.
