The spring for my fuel door broke a few weeks ago. I've been putting it off because I thought it'd be a hassle. Now I checked and the local auto-parts-warehouse has the whole spring assembly for $7. In stock. Guess where I were yesterday?
Ill guess where you was yesterday.
At the local auto-parts-warehouse, spending 7 of your hard earned smackers.
I was there and spent the equivalent of 60 of them but I didn't think to check for this.
So I guess it'll stay broken for another week or two before I go by again.
I replaced the lower windshield corner seals again on 2001 V70. Last time was 2012 and removal confirms they were Volvo parts. This time I purchased from FCP with lifetime replacement. Next time (2026) they will be free replacements. This car sits outside all the time.

Bro helped me replace R brake pads (Akebono ceramics) and Brembo rotors. Nice lip on the rotors and pads were at about 2 mm thickness. Not sure what specs are for end of life, but I was getting low speed parking lot pad squeak, so I figured it was time.
We only got the fronts done. Rears are going to have to wait.

Picked up the 05' V70 5-speed from my indie with a new passenger side axle installed. I'm really glad I didn't attempt this myself. He had a tough time getting the old one out. It wouldn't budge while in the car, so he took the whole carrier out. Then he had to heat up the bearing assembly while pressing it out. Now I have a brand new wheel bearing because he didn't feel comfortable re installing the old one .
He was not able to fix my "check stop lamp" problem. but he did some diagnosing. It looks like my REM is on it's way out and may have to be rebuilt. Before I spend big bucks though, I will take the tail gate trim off and redo the brake light connector. I have a sneaky suspicion that the pins are not seating properly and the REM is not happy. We will see.
