That dog had fun judging by the pictures. Thanks for sharing. Sorry for your loss.

Awesome dog, may he rest peacefully & have frequent dreams of chasing things.

One of our dogs recently lost his vision & even though he's still alive (& walks clockwise circles all day long) we both are already grieving about him being gone one day. I was reminded by your images of things he used to do; ride on the front of the jetski at the cabin, ride in the back of the 6x6, ride between us on the snowmobile, ride with his head out the sunroof of our 04 XC70, launch 15' off the end of the dock, sleep with his head on a pillow...sad.

Yesterday I did a basic stage 1 tune on our 04 XC70. Today I cut the resonator out & welded in a section of 2.5" OD pipe & rotated the snow tires on it. I was also happy to see no more oil leaking anywhere after replacing seals, save for the slow & perpetual leak from the angle gear, which is probably overfilled. Sure sounds nice without the resonator & a bonus is no more rain/slush squeal. It's no hotrod, but it sure is a good bit more fun to drive now.

I had made "reticle" relief cuts on both ends of my pipe thinking I was just going to clamp it in place after I cut out the resonator. Nothing about the pipe from the resonator back is ferrous seeming but the flange between the resonator & cat IS. So, I got out my bubbalicious gun & stuck it all together with that vs using clamps. I was amazed that the stainless portion of pipe rear of the resonator I welded the 2.5" non-SS pipe to took it so well.

Also did this mod, gives a bit more drone though. If you want more bang for your buck, consider a 3" Downpipe, highly recommended over the stock unit!

In the end I replaced the modded stock catback with a full 3" Rakaror stainless exhaust

And the difference in downpipes :) BSR vs stock

Changed the wipers out on front to the Bosch CAs.
It's a good look!!! And I have more in my field of vision. Small upgrade, yet it makes a striking difference in aesthetic.

Experimenting with Plastic Dip
-
The cloth had come unglued. Bits and bits were everywhere during cloth removal so decided to thoroughly scrub the cloth and surface of the cover. In doing so unfortunately the cloth shrank a little so it's unworkable. The cover still has a good amount of fuzz material but decided to give the Dip a try anyways. Half a can at one time on the Cover and Hand Brake Boot Cover Molding.

I discovered that with a darker cover the focus on the road is better and glare is reduced. Will also Dip the mirror covers to blend. One or two more coat is needed before installation. Fume will be minimum for the interior from what I can tell so far.

What tires do you use, and how does it do on ice? My fwd 850 with Blizzaks did very well.

Continental VikingContact 6. They're great. This weekend I've done a ton of very slippery driving and the car is very nice and predictable even when grip is in short supply. They're very soft though which is noticeable at motorway speeds. Can't have it all though.

Now the car is so dirty I can barely read the rear license plate.
