You need a new or rebuilt valvebody (at best)
You need to post mileage and any known service history

2007 V70 2.5T White/Oak 111,000 MILES. Polestar tune, IPD bars, rear spoiler, dark grey Thors, DWS 06, HU850, sub.

Thanks for some of the advice guys this Volvo my only set of wheels right now mileage is around 150k dont know when transmission fluid was last changed or filter owned car about two weeks been doing work on it since. Is the valve body pretty tough job to replace and if i do it my self does the transmission need reprogrammed? I want to know if the tcm needs reprogrammed before i tackle or have volvo shop tackle valve body job ?

Before you replace anything, read up on how to check the fluid (right temperature, engine running, etc) and check it again. Your statement about this starting with the loss of a little fluid during the radiator swap is a flag.

When I changed the fluid in my '04, I had similar symptoms after changing the fluid, but when I fully warmed the fluid up and checked it again, I found it was a bit low. Added a few ounces at a time until it was near the top of the operating range, and the symptoms were gone.

If you don't have VIDA, you need to run it for a good 30 mins to get to the right temperature to check it.

To answer your question, if you install a V/B YES... new (updated) programming is required and actually should be done anyway, with or without a new V/B.
Start with checking the fluid first for a correct HOT fluid level and color.
Hot means at least 30 minutes of running, the cold level is irrelevant.
If black (but not burned) change the fluid ASAP, get all updated software downloaded and see what that does for you.
