I might have the snorkel left over from my PCV, unless I gave that away. will check

I put two of my largest Oetinger clamps in snail - might be too small though.

on edit - part 9445351, used, tested, with full existence and uniqueness warranty is in stock

Looks like that part # is for pre-2001, non-turbo V70:

Well at least the road Im on in well paved, I hope the destination has good AC.

This did come off an OEM equipped T5 1999, though.

Chalk up another for the bastards...its a 1999-2000 only part 9445351

Just wanted to check some assumptions here before re-doing the hoses and clamps. For proper installation, I should:

1. Slide loose hose clamps around ends of hose.
2. Push hose ends completely onto fittings.
3. Slide hose clamps down hoses so that they are at the very end of the hose and as far onto the fitting as possible.
4. Crimp hose clamps.

Yes?

I would say almost at the very end for #3. You don't want them sliding off either way. Though it'd probably harder to get it wrong that way.

The two things I get wrong most often:
1. Over- or under-tightening bolts, and
2. Over- or under-tightening, or improperly positioning, or using the wrong type of, hose clamps.

Sadly I didn't have a "bolts 'n' clamps" play set growing up, so I'm learning this all in my 4th decade...

One interesting note, I received the replacement hose yesterday. Where the aftermarket hose I got last year in the iPd kit was a very stiff, glossy, hard rubber, the Genuine Volvo hose from FCP was a very flexible, matte, soft rubber. Both were molded in the same design dimensions, just very different materials.

So far things are looking on track to do the job tomorrow.

Have you ever wanted your engine to sound like a tea kettle boiling over? Try not getting the banjo bolt on the intake manifold tight enough.

#(*$#@(*& banjo bolt

This is the one part of the PCV procedure where removing the alternator would actually make a huge difference.

Trying again this weekend.

I spent something like two hours on that bolt alone when doing the PCV. Terrible design. You've got my sympathies.

I didn’t have as much trouble with it when I did this last year. I am thinking either my fingers are one year older and/or the bolt head got rounded off. It seems a bit soft. In any case, I ordered a new one. I shoulda listened to Jay in his FCP video when he says always get a new banjo bolt. :-|
