Help with 2009 S60 AWD Rear Spring Strut Parts

Post by catchmeifucan652 » Tue Jan 29, 2019 8:32 pm

I am replacing the rear springs & shocks on my 2009 S60 2.5T AWD. I have 150k miles and a broken spring. I am going to reuse the shock mounts, and I already bought the correct replacement seats and shocks. However, I ordered replacement springs that I thought were correct, but they aren't even close to fitting.

There are a bunch of fit codes to pour through on online retailer spring listings. According to my product ID plate, the rear spring code is 33 and the rear shock code is 47. Here is what I ordered. FCP says they fit my car, the codes check, they still don't fit:

The springs I received are much larger in diameter than the old ones, and are not tapered at the bottom to fit the lower collar on the shock. I would like to have factory ride height and feel, so I don't know what else to do to identify this part. Any help? Thx

Since they're nowhere near fitting I suggest returning them to FCP. They're good people and honor their return policy but act as fast as you can. They may have sources of info which can remedy your situation.

Look up your part on IPD's website. Try eEuroparts too.

Glitches happen in parts listings all the time.

I'd think twice about reusing the shock mounts. If they are the same style as the P80 mounts you're talking about ten year old rubber. General consensus seems to be rubber auto parts have a service life of about 10 years. So. . .

'99 V70 NA FWD Auto, dark blue (actively for sale)
'99 S70 NA FWD Auto, black (sold and resurrected -- Don't cry for me Argentina . . . )

Thanks for the comments. No solution yet. I'm pretty sure there's a labeling problem, either on my product ID plate or the springs. FCP is stumped, and I have emails out to IPD and eEuroparts.

Does anyone have a product ID plate for an AWD P2 S60? I don't know how to find an alternative rear spring codes that might work.

The rear shock mounts on the AWD rear are beefy pieces of metal that are $100 each, not the front P80 style. If I get in there and the rubber is worn I'll replace them.
