Loss of Steering Wheel Audio Controls w/Aftermarket Receiver
Awhile back I installed the Blaupunkt San Jose 120 Double-DIN received to add Bluetooth functionality to my 2002 Volvo V70’s audio system. However, during the install, there was a cable from the car that didn’t have a slot to plug into on the receiver. I lost usability of the steering wheel audio controls but everything else works fine so I assume that loose cable is connected to the steering wheel controls. Can anyone direct me on how to fix this issue?

Unfortunately, this happens with most aftermarket audio units. I'm not aware of a way around

Re: Loss of Steering Wheel Audio Controls w/Aftermarket Receiver
Crutchfield says: "Built-in SWC: This receiver offers built-in steering wheel remote compatibility with select non-CAN Bus vehicles. We don't recommend using this receiver's built-in steering wheel interface, because results have been inconsistent and we cannot confirm this radio's compatibility with your vehicle."
My guess is, Toyota could be one of "selects". If you handy with a soldering iron and Arduino, you can build your own Volvo to Blaupunkt SWC adapter.
