Yes, good one. It’s basically what I did. Rotated engine to have closed valves at desired cylinder. Hooked threaded compression test device (with Schrader one way valve removed) applied (light) air pressure. Over 20 psi you will rotate the engine. Checked exhaust, intake, and oil ports.
A few of the honda and Volvo engines I have put heads on, I steered away from Fel pro. Based on reviews.
I dont do this as a living, nor have I run tests to see. I know why I have not used them in the past. I am in too remote of a location, and shipping gaskets from Volvo is costly. And I dont have a ipd order going in.
Really hope someone says, yes, I put a Fel pro in 7 years ago and its been fine in this same style whitie

I have used FelPro head gaskets on Subaru motors with great success. Also used one on a BMW without issues. Cannot comment on Volvos, but I have used other FelPro products without issue.
A Volvo head gasket is nothing magical and FelPro has a reputation of quality products.
