Nothing today other than installing a new fuel filter after I get off work. Since my first post about 6 months ago I now am the proud owner of 4 Volvos. A 97 854 T5 Parts car, 96 855 Platinum Edition, 99 S70 Manual N/A (For the fiance), and a 00 v70 XC. Now looking at getting a 2005-2007 XC70 or v70 for myself when one pops up on craigslist with an issue for cheap. What have I done??

Went to start the car this morning and it cranked and wouldn't start. I quickly realized I wasn't hearing the fuel pump. I swapped out the fuel pump relay with my spare in my glove box and sure enough, it fired right up. I love a quick diagnosis and repair.

2 lessons from this...
1- NEVER buy a KAE fuel pump relay. I had a used (but looked like new) one I grabbed at the junkyard that was in the car. It lasted maybe a little more than a year. Only use genuine.
2- ALWAYS carry a spare fuel pump relay in your car! It could save you one day (like it did today for me)!

Got the Bluetooth hooked up to the Volvo Stereo using the CD changer connector. Ran some wires for the 2.1 connector to the inside of the arm rest. New speakers installed, rerunning the wires for the driver side door. Its grounding out somewhere.

Replaced the pass. side lower engine mount, cabin air filter, siphoned the power steering fluid reservoir and added new atf. Then a swapped the radio and hvac light bulbs. Didn't realize the 7219's were too small for the hvac until I had it opened. Tried it out for a whim but no go. So i have to replace them when i get the correct size.

I did recycle the black bulb holders in the radio, which was pretty easy. Just make sure you trim them flush or upon reinstall or you'll get smoke out the front of the radio, luckily all is good after a trim and tuck of the filaments. As a chuckle here is a picture of the overdue cabin filter too. Might have made it a few more miles.

Haha, yeah and this one is even MORE of a Chevy, it has the Saab variant of the Ecotec.
Can’t wait to drive it, though... it’s the Arc, so it it should be fairly quick.

My 9-5 was an Aero. This 9-3 Arc has the same engine as the 9-3 Aero, but not the Aero suspension package or seats. The Aero sport seats in my 9-5 were awesome... almost Volvo status.

Hey garaba, check inside the wiring harness in the front of the door near the connector. I found a broken wire for the electric mirror control in the driver's door harness.

Is there a trick getting that harness unplugged? Reason I ask is I have a woofer in the door that mostly isn't. My mirrors work fine however. May wait until warmer weather - you know how plastic loves to snap in the cold (and any other time you don't want it to.)
