98 c70 hpt blue smoke when started

Take it out, let it warm up, then run it hard on the highway or something.

Come back the next day and start it again. Shouldn't be any smoke.

I really don't think you have much to worry about.
From what I have recently learned, leaking valve stem seals do NOT cause burnt valves.
Oil creates hot spots on valves. Hot spots burn away at it.
