The plastic harness into which the headlight bulb plugs fell apart as soon as I removed it from the assembly, so I went to take one from the T5, and the same thing happened.
I can snug the connectors back on to a new bulb, but is there a more permanent fix?
What did you do to your Volvo today? Topic is solved

You can find the connectors at auto stores usually, or Amazon. You'd just need to cut back the wires a little and splice in the new ones.

I have similar problem on a Mercedes. I found this Dorman product available from O Reilly. It claims to have ceramic connector to avoid heat damage. I have not tried this product.

I had this happen to my xc90. I spliced in a ceramic connector from Amazon and have had no issues in 2 years. Search by the bulb size code for ceramic pigtail.brunocerous wrote: ↑02 Dec 2023, 06:53 The plastic harness into which the headlight bulb plugs fell apart as soon as I removed it from the assembly, so I went to take one from the T5, and the same thing happened.

So there might be issues with my order for a blanking cover to delete the oil cooler. A pair of pinholes in the upper line that appeared after I did the PCV, must have knocked it with the manifold.
In the meantime I've tried assorted things with hose clamps, fuel hose, and JB weld to resolve it, but so far no luck. Leaking is getting pretty bad. Degreased it then now I'm slathering it generously with epoxy this time as a last ditch attempt.

Relatively easy to find used, and I just checked a couple of Volvo websites that say it is available new.RedBrickCollector wrote: ↑04 Dec 2023, 06:07 So there might be issues with my order for a blanking cover to delete the oil cooler. It is not clear to me where you are located; if you have the time and workspace, take the old ones off - not a pleasant job - and go to a shop that makes hydraulic hoses for equipment and farm machinery. Pay attention to how the ends are clocked.
Robert always has some delete plates on hand, contact him directly - text or phoencall are quicker than going through his website.
Nobody here has ever had any luck patching those hoses.

Got the new front control arms and endlinks installed on her car yesterday. The balljoints flopped around pretty freely, but weren't loose enough to rattle. Seemed like a good point to replace them.
Swapped the wheels front to rear to get the better tread up front until we sort new tires, etc.

If cable insulation is done with silicone that would be good product in my eye for Volvo's if fits.volvolugnut wrote: ↑02 Dec 2023, 11:34 I have similar problem on a Mercedes.
