Today: adjusted front end toe alignment settings to peak MPG while rolling (and ride quality/handling/tire wear).
Yesterday: Tightened the hose clamp at the bottom of the coolant reservoir. Admittedly when I spotted a slow leak that I identified as coolant at the bottom of the car near the engine mount crank pulley area I panicked a little. But it turned out to be nothing: fixed in 3 minutes with a flat head screwdriver.
2 days ago: Installed front LCAs (when I noticed the drip).

Changed the trunk struts on my 2000 S70. Found the easy way to snap the hook onto the body was to use a loop of string near the hoop and pull down with a long breaker bar wedged against the body. It also helps to grease the hook to help it slide into place.
Changed the switch pad on the driver's side door. I found one at the local pick and pay. I used a kitchen degreaser on a rag and with some elbow grease cleaned it up to look like new. I installed it and everything worked including the rear driver's side window which hadn't worked since I bought the car 8 months ago.
My next 2 projects are to replace my manual driver's seat with a power one I bought and to install wind deflectors on my windows.
Has any one used the Weathertech brand on their Volvo?
Thanks,
Bob

Finally got around to changing my oil. Wanted to do an oil analysis but didn't have any empty sample containers. The first 5000-mile oil (well, first 4600-mile) change interval for our car.
Helped my brother swap out some O2 sensors.

Pushed my 740 in the garage now that my cousin's Durango is out after an engine swap. Fuel pump should be here tomorrow, so now I can finally get my red block running!

Took off the sagging rear bumper to replace the mounting brackets and found a whole lot of rust. The left side was held on by red electrical wire, as the existing bracket had completely rusted in half. The right side used black electrical wire that was done so neatly that I thought it was part of the original design.
Removing the bolts was mostly unsuccessful so far. Only one bolt came out. The grinder took off the head of another, and the other two have pilot holes for a bolt extractor. Had to go to work, so I'm driving around with 7/8ths of a vehicle.

Wow, that's bad! We were just having this conversation on the BMW forum about rust. That's one of the good things about not living in Jersey anymore... we don't have that kind of rust down here in NC!

Speaking of impacts, I picked up that stubby Earthquake XT pneumatic imapct from Harbor Freight... that sucker kicks! I needed it to remove the cam and intermediate shaft pulleys on the 740 and it delivered.
The AvE video on Youtube heavily influenced my decision to buy. And you can't beat the $90 price tag.

If AvE says it's bad, well, he's got much higher standards than I think most "home gamers" really would benefit from. But if he says it's good, I trust it's legit good.
