Opinions needed--V50!

Hi everyone--
So, I just totaled my S40, and it saved my son's and my life. I want to replace it with a V50, and am looking at two:

2006 Manual Turbo--77,000 miles and costs $11500.
2005 Automatic 2.4i--90,000 miles and costs $8000.

Other features are equivalent (clean CarFaxes, too), and my S40 was also a manual. I can afford both, but certainly would like to go as cheaply as possible (as I'm sure my insurance rates are about to go through the roof).

Opinions? My S40 had 78,000 miles on it and still purred like a kitten.
