VOLVO 850 Turbo Keyless entry Alarm System

I have a 96 850 Turbo. Have determined that the keyless entry receiver is bad. I have obtained a new part, however I have no idea where it is located. I am guessing under the dash or in the trunk.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You might try removing the cover from the steering column. I think it might be there.

According to the VADIS, it's located between the glovebox and cowel member. To get at it, remove the glove box and it'll be to the right. However, since I'm new to this software, I may be wrong. If so, as rp850 says, check the steering column.

As they say, my opinion and a subway token will get you to Brooklyn...

I seem to recall another post where someone found the receiver under the top cover of the steering column. Seems easy enough to get a peek under that cover so maybe it's worth a shot.

I did manage to find the unit. It is attached to the passenger side of the car behind the glove box.

Make sure to read the posts about removing the glove box as this is a trick in and of it self.

how did you determine it was the reciever?
