2007 XC90 Trailer Hitch Wiring

Post by jasonmussell »

Hello all. Sorry to beat a dead horse but I was wondering if the 2007 XC90 still required the trailer control unit with the wiring kit. I was planning on purchasing the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Trailer Connector from eTrailer.com. Has anyone had experience with this unit? Do I still need the control unit? Thanks.

Yes the control unit is required for your year. I'm not sure about that company or product but the factory harness and control unit are not that much money. The factory 4/7 pole harness is 104.00 and the control unit is 63.02. You get free shipping and pay no tax.

On my 2006 xc90 I got a Draw Tite hitch which bolted right up following the directions. I did make my own connector bracket. The wiring harness I got from my local Volvo dealer. The control box I bought from the above gentleman. The directions that came with the hiring harness were complete and the installation went fine. Given the electronics in these cars I would use the volvo parts however you source them.
