heated seat help

Post by hethr01 »

hi,

the driver's side heated seat doesn't work in my 95 volvo 850 glt wagon (but the button does light up when you press it). the passenger side works fine.

i would greatly appreciate any information on troubleshooting, as i don't have a wiring diagram and i can't seem to open the wiring diagram page on this website.

i suspect that wire is broken in the seat - does anyone know the resistance spec thru the heating elements and the wire colors/numbers that i'd need to 'ohm' through?

thanks very much for any information

they were a problem on these as the wires below the seat get caught/broken. If you put your hand up beneath the seat you will find a hole in the foam and up inside there is the thermostat where I will guarnatee the wire is broken off. You should find a loose wire under the seat somewhere and tha is the one from it. Just a sase of soldering or crimping on a new terminal and hey presto! I did both of mine as they had just the symptoms you describe, now I have 'wet pants' again. :-)
